NH-31 Encroached for Government Program, Accident Occurred, 10 Injured at Dhupguri

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 27th May, 2017: Today Dhupguri saw a bit of the result an administrative carelessness can cause. The stage which was made on behalf of Dhupguri Municipality in the side of the National Highway for the yesterday’s inauguration ceremony caused a major accident of two Maruti vans colliding onto each other. At least 10 people were left injured while 2 sustained major injuries and was shifted to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital. Among the injured 5 were women and a girl.
The seriously injured were Md. Bablu and Md. Azad Hussain, both were the drivers of the vehicles. Due to this accident, at least the National Highway was closed for traffic for at least 30 mins. By this accident, questions are raised that how much the administration can become careless about traffic safety that an important road like a National Highway can dangerously encroach for a Government program.
